i haven’t been to luca on sunset yet, but supposedly they cook up a mean cheeseless pizza (which i have been getting more and more into lately in general). here’s their deal for saturday june 30th: Breakfast, lunch or dinner, all vegan vegetable pizzas will be served with complimentary large serving from fresh juice bar.  (pizza is approx $9.75, complimentary fresh juice value approx. $6.00.  If the guest would like to return for the juice on another visit, we will issue a gift card to return to enjoy at a later date.)

sweet!! follow your heart, the oldest vegetarian restaurant in los angeles, will be serving up vegan deep dish pizzas with their signature cheese on saturday june 30th for vegan pizza day! they’ll be offering special deep dish pizzas in 2 traditional flavors: margarita & ‘meat’ lovers, from 10:30am-4pm (or until supplies last). i have heard nothing but incredible things from people i trust about the FYH deep dishes, so check it out!

fuck to the yes. blackbird pizzeria in philly is one of very few all vegan pizza parlors in america, and their food is ridiculously amazing. above is a giant slice i ate there in march, and i’m still dreaming about it. 

luckily for philadelphia peeps, blackbird is participating in vegan pizza day on saturday june 30th by offering a special BUFFALO WING PIE. they are tossing some other ideas around as well, but they had me at buffalo wing. don’t miss this once in a lifetime pizza if you’re in the area. blackbird rules. 

yipee! portobello in portland is one of the best vegan restaurants in the country (and on the planet!) and they’re rolling out some special pies on june 30th for vegan pizza day. if you are in PDX, hit them up! their pizza is life-alteringly good. and i have reservations there next thursday. so fucking stoked.

update! beretta has announced their vegan special for june 30th: Broccolini, onion, ginger, olives, capers, tomatoes, vegan cheese ($15)! sounds amazing. SF, go eat it!!

SO STOKED! why can’t i be in san francisco on june 30th?! our friends at vegansaurus have hooked up a special menu item in honor of vegan pizza day at the swanky mission pizzeria and cocktail bar, beretta. we aren’t sure what the special VPD pie will be yet, but when we have details we will update you! for now, you should check out beretta for their year round vegan options (vegan cheese and sausage!) plus incredible drink menu. read more about that on vegansaurus’ beretta review.

last week, all my dreams came true. 

if you know me, you probably know that i’m a huge fan of the even huger soft pretzels at golden road pub. each pretzel is about the size of two human heads and i’ve been known to eat 3 or 4 of them during any given week. they come served slightly crispy and extra salty with a pot of tear-gas-strength house mustard, they are pretzel perfection.

don’t let living on the other side of the pond stop you from honoring vegan pizza day! of course you an can always make your own animal-free pie at home, but now londoners can also get in on the restaurant fun, as karma free pizza in harrow announced on facebook yesterday that they will be partaking in the vegan pizza day celebrations on june 30th. 

i’ve never been to karma free pizza, but from what i can gather, they’re the only pizzeria in london offering cheezly pizza on a regular basis. have you guys had cheezly? it’s fantastic! plus karma free has gained a favorable review (which includes multiple pizza, garlic bread, and dough ball photos!) from the respectable UK blog to happy vegans.

hey guys! it’s almost time—-VEGAN PIZZA DAY returns on june 30th! we’re teaming up again with our friends at Chicago Vegan Foods to bring you a massive celebration of everyone’s favorite food: vegan pizza! last year was crazy (people were having vegan pizza parties all over the country), so let’s make this year even better. the whole point of VPD is to celebrate the awesomeness of vegan pizza. have a vegan pizza potluck with your pals, go on a vegan pizza crawl to various different restaurants, order an obscene amount of vegan pizza delivery…you get the idea! same as last year, EMAIL ME YOUR VEGAN PIZZA PHOTOS and i will post them on the site!
