franchia in NYC is one of my all time favorite vegan restaurants. it doesn’t get any better than their spicy kimchi dumplings, assorted vegetable sushi, and fiery hot stone bowls. classy vibe, prime alcohol selection, central location, and fab presentation as well. what more do i require?
vegan cask rooftop brewed IPA with freshly baked bread at eataly’s birreria in NYC. top notch beer, epic views of manhattan—-it doesn’t get much better than this. $10 a pint but well worth it.
fat falafel sandwich from taim in NYC. spicy green falafel, hummus, israeli salad, pickled cabbage and tahini. $6.25
doin’ the damn thang. thanks for the rec, mourningnoir and carlycutsmyhair.
fuck yeah. non-fat vegan scallion spread on a fresh crispy bagel. bagel and bean in NYC. broadway & 54th.
lula’s sweet apothecary in manhattan makes undoubtedly the best vegan ice cream i’ve ever tasted. recently at their shop, i ate the sundae pictured above: cake batter soft serve, 1 scoop of cookies and cream ice cream, chocolate chips, hot fudge, whipped cream, and (of course!) a cherry on top.
i know i tend to throw superlatives around like i’m trippin’ (i can think of at least 5 BEST vegan pizzas i’ve ever eaten, and i know i refer to several edibles as the “most awesome food” ever), but lula’s is truly unmatched. they kill all restaurant ice cream competition, as well as the store-bought brands. plus, their parlor is like some kind of crazy vegan time warp: it’s in the future because it’s vegan and super cool—-yet, it’s in the past because they have so many old schooly items on their menu (egg creams, flavored sodas)! pinch me.
trust me, trust me, trust me. if you like ice cream, hit up lula’s any and every time you’re in NYC. the toppings list is staggering, the ice cream is phenomenal, and the place has charm.
indian plate special at candle cafe in NYC: eggplant seitan curry, yellow split pea dal, yellow basmati rice, chutney, cabbage salad and parata bread.
