new fall menu at native foods on TUESDAY!
just a quick update with more info on the new fall menu at native foods that will hit all locations tomorrow!
pizzas will be off the menu. the caesar salad will be off the menu. they’re bringing the OC raw chopper salad back, along with a new cobb salad that contains crispy shallots and tofu bacon. the bistro steak sandwich (pictured above) will be added to the menu!! the maryland tempeh cakes are history, and will be replaced with polenta bites. new soups include split pea with garlic croutons and french onion with native cheese. vanilla cupcakes, cardamom rose cupcakes and strawberry shortcakes will be taken off the menu and replaced with pumpkin pie (served with ginger cream on the side), pumpkin cheesecake (served with a maple pecan sauce), and an oatmeal cookie cream sandwich!

new native foods menu coming on october 2nd! the bad news is, the restaurant will be getting rid of pizza, the bangkok curry bowl, caesar salad, and both vanilla and cardamom rose cupcakes. the good news is, they’ll be adding a steak sandwich, pumpkin pie, and pumpkin cheesecake! can’t wait to try the new stuff.
food related street and restaurant art. as seen in portland, oregon.
lunch at the bye and bye, an all vegan pub in portland. we met up with our friend randy (author of the sriracha cookbook!) and shared a ton of stuff. BBQ brussels sprouts bowl, a meatball sandwich, a weeping tiger tofu sandwich, a peanut tofu bowl and tons of sides…including sprouts, broccoli, black eyed peas and brown rice. all hearty and delicious. oh, and we washed it all down with hopworks IPA. i love portland.
tiramisu. fuck you. (Portobello Vegan Trattoria in Portland)
the arribiata pizza at portobello in portland is criminally good. homemade sausage, spicy sauce, cherry peppers and cashew cheese. this is my favorite restaurant.
biscuits and gravy at vita cafe in portland. pretty much the best hangover food ever.
going kinda crazy with the homemade vegan burger and vegan tater tots at the power station at edgefield!! (Taken with Instagram at Power Station Pub & Theater - McMenamins Edgefield)
spending the night at mcmenamins in edgefield. it’s a huge brewery near portland with a hotel, music venue, movie theatre, winery, you name it! plus loads of bars stocked with beer made onsite. we scored an incredible room and grabbed dinner for later from FOOD FIGHT, portland’s amazing all vegan grocery store. i’m most looking forward to the vegan supreme burrito (!!) and the local hot sauce. have i told you how much i LOVE PORTLAND? (Taken with Instagram at McMenamins Edgefield)
our haul from the hungry tiger too in portland: half a vegan reuben, a full vegan club, a $1.25 vegan corndog. (Taken with Instagram at Hungry Tiger Too)
oh just hanging out at a bar in portland. separate vegan menu, VEGAN HAPPY HOUR, and $1.25 vegan corndogs on wednesdays (today is wednesday!). this is the promised land. check this pub out, it’s called hungry tiger too.
celebrate vegan pizza day at portobello in portland!
yipee! portobello in portland is one of the best vegan restaurants in the country (and on the planet!) and they’re rolling out some special pies on june 30th for vegan pizza day. if you are in PDX, hit them up! their pizza is life-alteringly good. and i have reservations there next thursday. so fucking stoked.
vita cafe is one of my favorite spots to hit up in portland. the menu is huge, almost entirely vegetarian, and everything on it can be made vegan. big hearty breakfasts, sandwiches, burgers, salads, entree platters, even tap beer—-vita has it all.
