i could spend all day at crate, london’s craft beer brewery and pizzeria in hackney wick. not only is the pizza delicious, but it’s vegan-friendly when ordered without cheese (the menu even has the v word on it!) and the staff are happy to throw on some extra toppings in place of the dairy. while not all of the beer at crate is suitable for vegans, they are experimenting with animal-free finings and i was able to get a lovely vegan stout on cask. go support this place and their vegan beer when you’re in london. and order the sage truffle pizza with shredded potatoes, it’s mind-blowing.

i’m so excited about today’s video with masa of echo park! as you probably know, i’m a huge pizza fan, and masa makes my all time favorite vegan version—an authentic chicago deep dish with teese soy cheese. we caught up with owner rob rowe and learned what makes the deep dish special, why it takes so long to bake, and which menu items everyone can enjoy at masa. check it:
world vegan day at two boots: FREE PIZZA and music!
hey guys! thursday is world vegan day, and we’re teaming up with two boots pizza to celebrate! between 6-8pm both LA two boots locations will be giving out FREE slices of the new quarry girl vegan pizza (designed by me!) which comes piled high with san marzano tomatoes, shiitake mushrooms, artichoke, fresh garlic, and a swirl of basil pesto. after thursday, the pizza will be available for one week…so make sure you get a chance to eat it.
in addition to free pizza, the echo park location will have free live music by LA’s own moses campbell. they’re an awesome band, and if you missed them at the el rey a couple weeks ago, this is your chance to make up for it. (huge thanks to clara from clara’s cakes for suggesting them).

vegan pizza is everywhere! even at little 818 area shacks like lenzini’s in noho. remember when brittany said this place was worth checking out? she was right!
they have daiya, but I roll cheese-less. i’ll be back.
i have a new favorite pizza place in los angeles and it’s called pizzanista. not only is their vegan pie unreal, but they regularly stock vegan slices! for toppings they’ve got good stuff like daiya cheese, and three different fake meats made by my favorite seitan company, upton’s naturals. CHECK IT. and hit up the little bear down the road for some beers beforehand. perfect night.
a quick day trip to the bay area lead to our random discovery of delarosa, a high end vegan-friendly pizza bar with lots of great beer on draught (not to mention wine and cocktails). while the menu offers both vegan sausage and vegan cheese (soy-based/not daiya), we opted instead for the naturally vegan and cheese-less spicy marinara pie. exquisite!! check this place out. the pizza is phenomenal and the tap list isn’t fucking around.
